In micro-organisms eye just detect the surroundings, either dark or light. 96% of animal species around the world have a complex optical system. Many organisms with color vision are also able to detect ultraviolet light which humans cannot see.
The human eye and animal eye are very different from each other. A human eye can take a million impressions and can tell difference between eight million different colors but have you ever wondered how your dog or cat and other animals see you and the world.
So today take a look at some animal facts and see the world from their eyes.
1. CAT VISION
Cats eyes are opposite to us, they have a high concentration of rod receptors and low concentration of cone receptors. Cats can’t see clear colors and details but they have the ability to see clearly in dark due to the high concentration of rod receptors.
Cats can’t focus on objects more than twenty feet away but on the other hand, they have very sharp reflexes and can pick up movements instantly as compared to us. They are red and green colorblind.

2. DOG VISION
Human eyes have three detecting cells called cones while dogs have only two which are blue and yellow, they don’t have red and green detecting cells. Their vision is similar to that of a cat. Dogs are virtually colorblind so they are mostly dependent on their heightened sense of smell.
Dogs can see better in the dark as they have more rods in the retina which enables to see better in dark. They can detect small movements way faster than humans.

3. BIRDS VISION
Science says that birds can see ultraviolet spectrum which humans cannot see. Birds have four cones and also have a deep fovea which acts as a telephoto lens on a camera. They need an excellent vision for flight and they can detect a rabbit twitch its ears from 2 miles away.
They can change the shape of their eye lenses too to get a greater view of the area and have eyes on their sides so they can see widely as well.

4. FISH VISION
The structure of the fisheye is similar to that of mammals. Birds and mammals adjust their focus by changing the shape of the lenses while fish adjust focus by moving the lens closer or further. They have cone and rods both present in their eyes.
Fishes have four types of cones and one of which detects ultraviolet light too. Some fish only have rods and cannot see the colors while deep sea fishes have big eyes with a wide pupil and have great sight.

5. BEE VISION
Bees can not see red color but they can see orange and yellow. Research says that bees not only see the flowers differently, they can also see ultraviolet light patterns at the center of the flowers. These ultraviolet pattern work as a landing zone for bees.

6. BUG VISION
Insects have more eyes than humans. Most spiders have five eyes, a dragonfly eye contains 30,000 lenses. Each little doesn’t see very well, the quality of its vision is much higher. If they have corresponding sensor cells, they can see colors. Most insects only see light and dark.
